Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your Rekba account and the data associated with it. Rekba is a public-transit app published by Rekba.
Delete your account from the app
The quickest way to delete your account:
- Open the Rekba app and sign in.
- Open the Profile tab and scroll to the bottom.
- Tap “Delete my account”.
- Confirm in the dialog. Your account and data are scheduled for permanent deletion after 30 days — sign back in before then to keep the account.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email rekba.app@gmail.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask you to confirm your identity before we proceed.
What we delete
When your request is processed, we permanently delete:
- Your account and profile (email address and display name).
- Your saved preferences, favourites, and saved places.
- Your trip history and account identifiers.
What we keep, and for how long
Some data is kept after deletion, in a form that no longer identifies you, or because the law requires it:
- De-identified, aggregated location contributions that keep real-time tracking working for everyone — these can no longer be linked to you.
- Records we are required to keep for legal and accounting purposes, for the period required by Algerian law.
- Residual copies in encrypted backups, which are erased on a rolling cycle within 90 days.
How long it takes
We complete deletion requests within 30 days. Backups containing residual data are purged within 90 days.
